Following the success of the first edition, RCCAQ Innovation is pleased to invite you to the second edition of its Brokerage Technology Summit, TeC Summit, which will take place at the Palais des Congrès in Montreal on February 20, 2025.
This year, under the theme The Digital Revolution with AI: Accelerating your firm’s growth, the program will explore the latest technological advancements dedicated to brokerage firms, with a new addition: a category specifically dedicated to artificial intelligence solutions.
The TeC Summit aims to inform you about solutions, tools, and services tailored to the needs and challenges identified since 2022 as part of our Digital Transformation Initiative (DTI) program. This year, our program offers twice as much content as the first edition, allowing participants to choose the topics and activities that interest them the most.

Jean-Philippe started in insurance in 2004 as a producer broker at Groupe Ostiguy & Gendron. In 2012, he joined the company’s shareholders as Executive VP in charge of operations. Since 2015, he has held the position of president and is responsible for operations and digital strategy at the firm now called Covalen. He has been involved in the Technology Committee of the RCCAQ since its creation.

Part visionary, part maverick, Sherif began his insurance career in 2009 as an independent broker when he opened Sharp Insurance. Soon after, Sharp became one of the most innovative and fastest growing brokerages in Canada. Much of his success is related to his pioneering early adoption of brokerage digitalization. Creating, launching, and reiterating digital tools to help him grow his brokerage, Sherif realized his passion was in the software development side of things. In 2021, Sherif sold his brokerage to become an advocate for independent brokers. As CEO of Trufla, a global software provider for the distribution channel, Sherif continues to push the boundaries of what brokers can do through data and digitalization. Sherif is a recognized thought leader and frequent speaker on insurance distribution and the critical role of independent brokerages.

Gregory joined Acturis in the UK 2007. Among his different roles within the company, he shaped and managed the Acturis specialty lines team for more than five years. In 2019, he moved to Canada to help the company adapt the Acturis SaaS platform to the Canadian market. As the Managing Director of Acturis Canada, he oversees the teams delivering the Acturis Canada, PowerBroker and Brovada solutions and manages strategic business relationships looking to provide seamless e-trade to insurance brokers across Canada. He was the founding president of SkyFluent from 2012 to 2022, playing a key role as a Zoho partner for Quebec SMEs. Since then, he has held the position of Sales Director for Quebec at Zoho Canada Corporation, assisting organizations in their digital transformation.

Bio
Grégoire is an entrepreneur and an expert in insurance distribution, having participated in two major insurance broker LBOs (WTW and APRIL) and successfully exited his first company. More recently, Grégoire held the position of Chief Operating Officer at LEOCARE, a French neo-broker. Previously, he created and sold UEX in Singapore, an IPMI (International Private Medical Insurance) distribution platform, which he sold to the April Insurance group in 2020.

Steve Earle - Bauld Insurance
Bio
Steve holds dual roles as Presidents of Bauld Insurance, which is a 70+ year old traditional independent brokerage, and WebBroker Canada Inc., a completely digital brokerage model that launched its first customer facing brand, Cheep Insurance in June of 2016.
After attending Mount Allison University, Steve began his insurance career as a Claims Adjuster with The Citadel Assurance in Toronto in 1995. In 2008, Steve and his wife Sara purchased her father’s insurance brokerage where he had been Business Development Manager for 10 years.
Steve has served as Chair of Nova Scotia’s Young Brokers Network and his local Business Association. Currently Steve sits on both the Technology Committee of the Insurance Brokers Association of Canada, Canadian Broker Network (CBN) and is on the Board of Directors for the Centre for the Study of Insurance Operations (CSIO).

Karine Gosselin - Gosselin Courtiers d'assurances
Bio
Karine Gosselin began her career in 2009 at the company founded by her father, Serge Gosselin. Her entrepreneurial spirit led her to establish her own property and casualty insurance firm in 2013, to meet the specific needs of an Indigenous community. This decision marked the beginning of a period of exponential growth and innovation for her company.
In 2017, following the merger of the two companies, Karine became the president of Gosselin Insurance Brokers. Shortly thereafter, she contributed to the company’s expansion by participating, along with 10 other firms, in the acquisition of the distribution network of the insurer Wawanesa. This collaboration resulted in the opening of a branch in Mercier and the expansion of their operational territory.
Always on the lookout for innovations in her field, Karine played a key role in the digitization and implementation of new technologies within the company. She has been actively involved in modernizing internal processes and integrating technological solutions, thereby contributing to the firm’s efficiency and competitiveness.
In addition to her professional commitments, Karine is actively involved in her community, working on the development and well-being of her region. Her passion for her work is reflected in her local engagement and determination to create a positive impact.
